Hello readers. Coffee is so good, but tea is just as good. Welcome to Night Vale.

As I was taking a ceramics class, I ended up with two mugs that had no handle. One of the two was destined to become my Welcome to Night Vale mug. This is not a typical post, but please enjoy.

What is Welcome to Night Vale, you may ask? Its a podcast about a small desert community and the things that happen to them. All of this is narrated by “The Voice of Night Vale” Cecil Palmer.

This cup was made out of Stoneware clay. I used underglazes and a coat of cone 04 clear. It was put in the Kiln for about 2 days. This information makes sense to those who have taken a ceramics or pottery class.

This picture shows the logo of WTNV. I only had 3 purples to work from so my pallet was a bit limited.

Below “Welcome to Night Vale”, are hooded figures. They must be heading to the Dog Park. Or looking to their left at the clearly not angels.

The beings that are most defiantly not angels (which they are) and that are all named Erika, must be going to Old Woman Josie’s house, near the car lot.

And here is the city scape of Night Vale. Isn’t it beautiful, unlike Desert Bluffs.

On the back of the cup, I have the Glow Cloud – “All Hail the mighty Glow Cloud”. That’s why “All Hail” is there.

Up close you can see 2 dead animals falling from it. Someone, ahem…Steve Carlesburg… must have angered the Almighty Glow Cloud.

Speaking of Desert Bluffs right under “All Hail” and next to the city scape of Night Vale is the sun logo of Strex corp. Down with Strex and their smiling god!

Next to the Strex logo is blood. I don’t know how that got there. Maybe it was the Vague Yet Menacing Government or the Old Lady Who Secretly Lives In Your Home. I don’t think it was from the Dog Park.

Near the many hooded figures is the Whispering Forest. You know the one that gives out complements like: “You look nice today”.

This is the perfect cup for a Barista from the Barista district to put your cup of coffee in. Or if you prefer tea that works just fine.

And now dear reader I leave you to wanting more from the little town of Night Vale. More Night Vale things yet to come in the future, if we are all here then. But for now I direct you to Spotify or YouTube to find Welcome to Night Vale. Goodnight readers, goodnight.
